Miraj Kandili Celebrated with Prayers Across the Country
Miraj Kandili, also known as the Night of Ascension, was observed with prayers and special programs in mosques all over the country. Cities such as Kayseri, Kırşehir, Mersin, Şanlıurfa, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Konya, Aksaray, Afyonkarahisar, Edirne, and Ankara organized various events to commemorate this holy night.
In Kayseri, the Provincial Deputy Mufti Cabir Çelik led a holy lamp program followed by refreshments for the congregation. In Kırşehir, prayers were offered for the martyrs, the oppressed, and all Muslims, accompanied by the distribution of lamp bagels and Turkish delight.
In Hatay, a candle lamp program was organized at the TOKİ Rasulullah Mosque, while in Konya, prayers were said for those who lost their lives in a recent hotel fire in Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Resort. Citizens also came together at Abdulhamid Han Mosque in Kahramanmaraş to read the Holy Quran and offer prayers.
Miraj Kandili programs were also held in Thrace, particularly in Edirne, where prayers were made at various mosques. In Ankara, special programs were organized at Hacı Bayram-ı Veli Mosque and Beştepe National Mosque, where prayers were offered for the victims of the hotel fire and for all martyrs.
Additionally, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism organized a Miracle Candle Program at the July 15 Democracy Museum, featuring Quran recitations, hymn recitals, and an exhibition titled “Mirac” showcasing the life of Muhammad and his experiences during Miraj.
Overall, Miraj Kandili was a time of reflection, prayer, and remembrance for Muslims across the country, with various programs and events bringing communities together to commemorate this sacred night.
