Orban Accuses Ukraine of Rejecting Peace Agreement on US Orders
Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, has made strong statements regarding the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Orban emphasized the involvement of the United States in the conflict, noting that the number of soldiers, weapons, and military aid from the US to Ukraine has been increasing. He expressed his opposition to the transfer of arms to Ukraine and the use of Hungarian taxpayers’ money to purchase weapons for the Ukrainian army.
In addition to this, Orban also vocalized his disapproval of Ukraine’s proposal to start negotiations for European Union (EU) membership. He firmly stated that Ukraine is not ready to enter EU membership negotiations and firmly declared that negotiations should never begin.
These statements come as EU leaders prepare to make a decision on whether to officially invite Ukraine to join the union in mid-December. Orban’s strong opposition to both military aid and EU membership negotiations for Ukraine signals the deepening tensions and complexities in the ongoing crisis in the east of Ukraine.
