Over 2,000 Babies Born in Uzbekistan on New Year’s Day 2024
The Health Ministry has reported that a total of 1,859 newborns entered the world on the first day of 2024 in Uzbekistan. Among these newborns, 847 were girls and 1,012 were boys. The highest number of births took place in the Kashkadarya region, with 207 newborns.
The number of births in other regions are as follows:
1. Andijan region – 201
2. Samarkand region – 196
3. Fergana region – 195
4. Surkhandarya region – 185
5. Namangan region – 178
6. Tashkent region – 172
7. Tashkent city – 144
8. Bukhara region – 86
9. Jizzakh region – 78
10. Khorezm region – 72
11. Republic of Karakalpakstan – 67
12. Syrdarya region – 42
13. Navoi region – 36
The Health Ministry’s press service also noted that out of 22 cases of twin births, 21 cases were twins, and in one case, triplets were born in the Surkhandarya region, totaling 45 babies.
It is interesting to compare this data to previous years. On the first day of 2018, 1,961 children were born, in 2019 – 1,708, in 2020 – 1,974, in 2021 – 1,644, in 2022 – 2,316, and in 2023 – 2,155.
This information gives insight into the demographic trends and changes in birth rates in Uzbekistan. It also highlights the distribution of births across different regions of the country.
