
Pendik Municipality AK Party Group Vice President Hüseyin Topçu Passes Away

68-year-old Hüseyin Topçu, a prominent member of the AK Party Pendik Municipal Assembly and a founding member of the district organization, passed away yesterday. The sad news of his passing was announced by AK Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Abdullah Ozdemir on his social media account. Ozdemir expressed his condolences to Topçu’s family and the community, stating, “Pendik Municipality AK Party Group Vice President Hüseyin Topçu has left us. May he rest in peace.”
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç also expressed his condolences for Topçu’s passing, thanking him for his service. Minister Tunç acknowledged the deep sorrow felt by the AK Party Pendik community at the loss of Topçu, who was a dedicated member and leader.
Hüseyin Topçu, born in 1957 in Çayeli district of Rize, had a long and distinguished political career. He started his journey in politics as a founding member of the Welfare Party Islands in 1983. Over the years, he served in various roles within the AK Party, including as a member of the Pendik AK Party Founding District Board of Directors and as a General Assembly Member. Topçu was elected to the Pendik Municipal Assembly in the 2019 Local Elections and later served as Deputy Chairman of the AK Party Group. In the recent 2024 Local Elections, he was re-elected as a member of the Pendik Municipal Assembly and took on the role of group vice president.
