Péter Gulácsi Ranks Third Among Bundesliga Goalkeepers
Hungarian goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi has been recognized as one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga, ranking third in the recent list compiled by Germany’s leading sports magazine, Kicker. The magazine divides players into different categories, with Gulácsi being placed in the international class category, only behind Gregor Kobel and Lukas Hradecky.
Gulácsi’s impressive performance in the previous season has earned him this prestigious recognition. The 34-year-old goalkeeper, who plays for RB Leipzig, has been with the club since 2015 and has played 302 matches, totaling 27,146 minutes on the field. He is a two-time German Cup (DFB-Pokal) winner in 2022 and 2023 and has successfully saved all shots in 95 of his matches.
RB Leipzig finished fourth in the Bundesliga this season, and Gulácsi’s contract with the club has been extended until the end of June 2026. This means he will continue to showcase his talent in the UEFA Champions League next season.
While other goalkeepers in the Bundesliga were also ranked by Kicker, including Manuel Neuer in the national class category, Gulácsi’s performance stood out, placing him among the best in the league. His consistent and remarkable goalkeeping skills have solidified his position as a top goalkeeper in international football.
