Phase-out of part-time education

Changes are expected in the requirements for foreign language certificates for admission to master’s and doctoral studies in Uzbekistan. It was announced at a press conference on May 8 that quotas for part-time education will not exceed the quota allocated for full-time education.

The form of part-time education will be phased out and replaced by expanding distance education and introducing extended education forms. Officials of higher education spoke about these changes at the press conference.

Regarding the requirement for foreign language certificates, the following changes are expected to be implemented:
– The certificate requirement will be waived for students who have completed their educational program in a foreign language.
– Depending on the field of study, the requirement for a certificate will be lowered to a B1 level in fields such as culture, art, sports, education, health, production, engineering, agriculture, veterinary medicine, architecture and construction, physics and natural sciences, and transport services.
– The certificate requirement will remain at a C1 level for foreign languages and a B2 level for exact sciences, biology, mathematics, law, journalism, information and communication technologies, and economics.

These changes aim to make higher education more accessible and inclusive for students in Uzbekistan.
