Pi Day: A Celebration of the Number Pi on March 14

Celebrate Pi Day on March 14th!
Did you know that Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th each year? The first known official celebration of Pi Day was back in 1988 at the San Francisco Exploratorium, organized by physicist Larry Shaw and his colleagues. Since then, Pi Day has become a popular day to celebrate the mathematical constant pi (π).
In 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives declared March 14th as National Pi Day, recognizing the importance of this mathematical constant. To commemorate Pi Day in 2010, even Google got in on the fun by featuring a special “Google” logo on its homepage, designed with circles and the pi symbol.
So, mark your calendars and get ready to celebrate Pi Day on March 14th. Whether you’re a math enthusiast or just looking for a reason to enjoy some pie (a homophone of pi), Pi Day is a fun and unique holiday to acknowledge the beauty of mathematics in our everyday lives.
