Police Officers Arrested for Aiding in Detention Center Escape

Criminal Case Initiated for Escape of Accused in Kyrgyzstan
The prosecutor’s office of the Issyk-Ata district in the Chui region of Kyrgyzstan has launched a criminal case after an accused individual escaped from a temporary detention facility. The case has been filed under article 348 (negligence) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to reports, on the night of June 5th, Kushubek Sabyrov, who had been accused of kidnapping, robbery, illegal deprivation of liberty, and attempted murder, was helped to escape the temporary detention facility by a policeman on duty and another officer from the facility. The two officers have since been detained.
Investigative actions are currently ongoing to determine if there were any other individuals involved in the escape of the accused. The seriousness of the charges against Sabyrov makes this escape a matter of great concern for law enforcement authorities.
This incident highlights the need for greater accountability and security measures in Kyrgyzstan’s detention facilities. It is crucial that the authorities take steps to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future and ensure that the criminal justice system remains fair and just for all parties involved.
