Police Stop Illegal Drug Sales in Two Areas (Video)

State Security Service officers in Uzbekistan have successfully thwarted attempts to sell counterfeit drugs in the Samarkand and Fergana regions. The detainees involved in the illegal drug trade were trying to sell medications such as Ampicillin, Vivanarin, Infera, S-Gen, and Ferrovell without the appropriate documents.

In Pastdargom district, a resident born in 1999 was caught trying to sell 3,600 packages of the Chinese-made S-Gen drug without proper authorization. He was also in possession of a fake certificate of state registration for the drug. Additionally, 240 packages of Vivanarin without documents were found and seized in his home.

In the Fergana region, another individual born in 1989 was found with 2,400 packages of Ampicillin, 1,600 packages of Infera, and 1,600 packages of Ferrovell iron-hydroxide sucrose complex. He was apprehended while attempting to send these drugs worth 121.8 million soums to pharmacies in Namangan.

Experts from the Center for Safety of Pharmaceutical Products determined that the drugs being sold did not meet storage conditions and lacked registration in the State Register and certificates of conformity. Last year, a resident of Kokand had already been fined for a similar offense.

As a result of these incidents, criminal cases have been initiated under Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code for the production, acquisition, storage, transportation, or sale of substandard or counterfeit medicines. The investigations are ongoing to ensure that those involved in the illegal drug trade are brought to justice.
