President Erdogan Reveals Mild Illness Due to Campaign Work
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently revealed that he was suffering from a minor cold, caused by his campaign work. Speaking during a joint broadcast of Ulke TV-Channel 7, Erdogan explained that he had a cold in his stomach, which temporarily interrupted the campaign activities. However, AK Party Spokesperson Omer Celik stated that Erdogan is currently in good health.
Many leaders of the opposition parties extended their well-wishes to the President via social media. The Nation Alliance Presidential candidate and CHP Chairman, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, wished Erdogan a speedy recovery. Meral Aksener, the IYI Party Chairman, Felicity Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoglu, DEVA Party leader Ali Babacan and Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoglu also sent their best wishes.
Despite the minor illness, the campaign activities of Erdogan continue with enthusiasm. The President’s health is a matter of concern as the general elections in Turkey are approaching. Nevertheless, it is a relief to know that the illness is not severe and that Erdogan is on the path to a speedy recovery.
