President Erdoğan Holds Meeting with HUDA PAR Chairman Yapıcıoğlu

AK Party Continues Preparations for Local Elections

In the midst of preparations for the upcoming local elections, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently met with HUDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu at the AK Party Headquarters. The meeting, which lasted approximately 1 hour, was closed to the press.

Upon arrival at the AK Party Headquarters, Yapıcıoğlu was welcomed by AK Party General Secretary Fatih Şahin. Following the meeting, Yapıcıoğlu stated that the discussion revolved around the local elections and the future of the People’s Alliance.

Yapıcıoğlu confirmed that there is an agreement in principle for the People’s Alliance to continue, and that further details will be worked out in the coming days. He stated, “Our friends will work on the details in the coming days. Once the details are clear, we will make a new statement to the public if necessary.”

When asked if a specific province was mentioned for cooperation in the local elections, Yapıcıoğlu declined to share details at the time. However, he did mention that delegations from both the AK Party and HUDA PAR will be formed to carry out further discussions in the following days. These delegations will be headed by Mr. Efkan Ala from the AK Party and Deputy Chairman İshak Sağlam from HUDA PAR.

Yapıcıoğlu also revealed that the first meeting between the delegations will likely take place tomorrow or Friday as they work towards reaching a result in the near future.

In addition to the meeting with Yapıcıoğlu, President Erdoğan also hosted Fatih Erbakan, leader of the Re-Welfare Party, and meetings at the commission level continue between the AK Party and MHP as preparations for the local elections continue.
