President Japarov Inaugurates New School in Osh City

President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan recently inaugurated a new school building named after Iskhak Razzakov in Osh city as part of his working trip to the Osh region. The old school building was declared unsafe after the 2015 earthquake, leading to the transfer of students to another school. Construction of the new building, which can accommodate 720 students, had been suspended until 2022 but is now ready for use.

In addition to the new school in Osh, nine schools and two kindergartens were opened across the country with online participation from the president. President Japarov highlighted the challenges faced by schools in the country due to unsafe buildings, damaged by natural disasters or reaching the end of their service life.

Over the past three years, significant efforts have been made to address these challenges, with the construction of 315 schools and 69 kindergartens. The president emphasized the importance of investing in education, stating that every school built contributes to the country’s development. Furthermore, efforts have been made to improve the quality of education by printing over half a million copies of books to support learning in schools.

President Japarov also stressed the need to update teaching methods to meet the demands of the digital age, including incorporating information and communication technologies into the curriculum. The creation of the Akylman Presidential Lyceum in 2023 aims to train highly qualified personnel who may one day assume leadership positions in the country.

In conclusion, President Japarov called for active involvement from parents in their children’s education and encouraged collaboration between families and teachers. He underscored the importance of adapting educational practices to align with the fast-paced changes brought about by technological advancements in order to ensure a high-quality education for all students.
