President Kickstarts Car Plant Construction in Chui Region

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov recently marked a significant milestone in the country’s automotive industry by laying the capsule for the construction of a new enterprise in the Sokuluk district of Chui region. This new facility will focus on the assembly of electric vehicles, commercial and passenger cars, special equipment, as well as the sale of vehicles and related products on the international market.

The project, which is being carried out in collaboration with the Chinese company China Hubei Zhuoyue Group, is set to have an investment volume of $115 million at the initial stage, with a design capacity of over 80,000 vehicles per year.

President Japarov highlighted the government’s investment policy, which includes providing tax incentives, to create a favorable environment for investors. He expressed confidence that this project would boost the automotive industry in the country, increase its contribution to the GDP, and generate new employment opportunities.

In addition to fostering growth in the automotive sector, President Japarov stressed the importance of building a national brand for the Kyrgyz Republic through the production of cars, auto parts for export, and the expansion of international trade. He underscored the need for full support for such a large-scale project and expressed his hope that this enterprise would be a catalyst for establishing the “Made in Kyrgyzstan” brand.

Ambassador Du Dewen of the People’s Republic of China to the Kyrgyz Republic commended the strategic partnership between the two countries, which paved the way for this project. She thanked President Japarov for his backing of business collaboration and expressed optimism that through joint efforts, the project would set a positive example for enhanced cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China.

The official launch of the enterprise for the production and sale of cars is anticipated to take place in August of this year, signaling a new chapter in Kyrgyzstan’s automotive industry.
