President learns about investment projects in Khorezm region
Shavkat Mirziyoyev was recently briefed on 18 projects with a combined value exceeding $660 million. The projects cover a variety of sectors including mechanical engineering, urban planning, chemistry, textiles, building materials, medicine, and food. These projects are being developed in collaboration with foreign investors, showcasing the growing interest in Uzbekistan’s business potential.
During the presentation, details were shared on projects focusing on ecotourism, fishing, electric trucks, nickel sulfate for batteries, architectural windows, glass containers, construction materials, varnishes, fabric production, hotels, hospitals, entertainment centers, and roads. The aim is to boost economic development and create new opportunities for growth in the country.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev engaged in discussions with both foreign investors and local entrepreneurs leading these projects. He emphasized the importance of expediting the projects and providing favorable conditions for entrepreneurs to thrive in Uzbekistan’s business environment.
One notable visit during the briefing was to the textile enterprise of “Khiva cluster” LLC, located in the Khiva district. The enterprise, equipped with machinery from Turkey, Germany, and China, employs 500 individuals and has a production capacity that meets international standards. The products manufactured at the enterprise are fully exported, with an annual export potential of around $15 million.
The president also witnessed the production process at the textile enterprise and interacted with the workers. The “Khiva cluster” has successfully implemented projects worth $105 million between 2018-2023, creating an annual export capacity of $50 million and providing employment opportunities for over 800 individuals. Collaborations with other enterprises have led to the production of various goods such as oil, soap, eggs, dairy products, and shoes.
Overall, the presented projects reflect Uzbekistan’s commitment to attracting foreign investments, promoting economic growth, and fostering innovation in key sectors of the economy.
