President Mirziyoyev to Make Official Visit to China.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will host the “China – Central Asia” summit on May 18-19 in Xi’an, China. The summit will be attended by the presidents of the Central Asian countries: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. They have been invited by President Xi for a state visit to China from May 16-20. The summit and the state visit will be an opportunity for China and Central Asia to strengthen their alliances and boost their economic ties. However, the relationship between China and some of the Central Asian countries has been tense after the Chinese ambassador to France questioned the sovereignty of the post-Soviet countries, leading to a diplomatic conflict. The summit will be a chance for China to address these tensions and clarify its stance on the issue.
