President of Turkmenistan convenes State Security Council meeting Orient
President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who also serves as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, recently chaired a meeting of the State Security Council to review the work conducted by security forces in January and February of 2025.
During the meeting, Secretary of the Security Council and Minister of Defense, Begench Gundogdyev, presented a report detailing the efforts made to enhance the country’s defense capabilities since the beginning of the year. He highlighted the implementation of digital systems and best practices within the security structures, as well as the progress of the Armed Forces Development Program aimed at creating better working and living conditions for military personnel and their families.
Various heads of law enforcement agencies, including the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Supreme Court, the Ministry of National Security, the Ministry of Justice, as well as the heads of border, customs, and migration services, also provided reports on their activities over the two-month period.
During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov issued a decree regarding the appointment and dismissal of judges, as well as assigning them qualification classes.
Emphasizing the importance of modernizing the Armed Forces in accordance with the Defensive Doctrine of Neutral Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the heads of security agencies to continue strengthening the material and technical base of the armed forces. He also underscored the need to enhance the qualifications of officers and promote patriotic education among the youth.
The meeting of the State Security Council reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to ensuring the security and defense of the nation, in line with the vision set forth by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
