President of Turkmenistan Meets with UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan met with Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates on a visit to the country yesterday. The meeting was filled with warm greetings and expressions of cooperation between the two nations.
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed greetings from the President of the UAE and the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense of the UAE to President Berdimuhamedov. He highlighted the UAE’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Turkmenistan.
In response, President Berdimuhamedov welcomed Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and emphasized the importance of high-level visits from the UAE to Turkmenistan. The two leaders discussed the friendly and brotherly relations between their countries, based on mutual respect and partnership.
Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1995, Turkmenistan and the UAE have expanded their cooperation in various fields, including politics, trade, investment, energy, transport, and culture. Both countries have seen growth in trade and economic ties, particularly in the energy, oil and gas, and construction sectors.
The leaders also highlighted the significance of Turkmenistan’s neutrality status and the UAE’s strategic goals in strengthening their bilateral relations on the international stage. Turkmenistan’s initiative to declare 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” aligns with the upcoming 30th anniversary of its recognition as a neutral country by the UN.
President Berdimuhamedov invited Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to attend an international forum in Ashgabat on December 12, expressing confidence that his participation would further enhance the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE.
Overall, the meeting between President Berdimuhamedov and Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan signaled a continued commitment to cooperation and partnership between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.
