President Tatar and First Lady Sibel Tatar receive holiday well-wishes at Presidency
President Ersin Tatar and his wife Sibel Tatar led a public celebration on the first day of Eid al-Adha, showcasing the rich culture and traditions of the Turkish Cypriot people. The event, held at the Presidency, was attended by esteemed guests including Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and other prominent figures.
During a press statement, President Tatar emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, trust, and tranquility in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). He expressed his concerns about global conflicts in regions like Gaza and Ukraine, urging for intervention from major world powers and institutions to prevent further tragedies.
President Tatar also addressed the issue of increasing traffic accidents and called on all drivers to exercise caution and responsibility on the roads. He mourned the recent loss of lives in accidents and extended his sympathies to the affected families.
As the celebrations coincided with Father’s Day, President Tatar took the opportunity to honor fathers, both living and deceased, emphasizing the value and respect they deserve. He highlighted the importance of preserving national and spiritual values amidst cultural conflicts in today’s society.
The Tatar couple later joined a reception at the Presidency, engaging with guests and spreading the message of unity, solidarity, and cultural preservation. President Tatar extended his Eid al-Adha greetings to the people of the TRNC, Turkey, and the entire Islamic world, hoping for a peaceful and prosperous future for all.
