Prosecutor General’s Office reveals large-scale electricity theft in Namangan region

Illegal consumption of electricity leads to criminal case in Namangan region

In the Naryn district of the Namangan region, the head of a limited liability company (LLC) has been found to have illegally consumed a staggering 2,128,000 kWh of electricity, according to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO).

It was discovered that the unofficial head of LLC “B.M.F.”, Sh.U., had connected the brick production workshop equipment to the public network without authorization, resulting in the misappropriation of electricity estimated to be worth 2.3 billion UZS.

As a result of this incident, a criminal case has been initiated against Sh.U. under clause “a”, part 4 of Article 169 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to theft committed on an especially large scale. The suspect has been detained in accordance with procedural regulations.

The PGO has provided photographic evidence of the illegal connection and consumption of electricity by Sh.U., highlighting the severity of the offense committed.

Authorities are cracking down on such illegal activities to ensure fair and lawful practices in the region, sending a strong message that theft and misuse of public resources will not be tolerated.
