Putin: Avdiivka Withdrawal Order Given While Soldiers Fleeing
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu have made bold statements regarding the city of Avdiivka in Ukraine. According to Putin, Ukrainian troops were forced to retreat in chaos after Russian forces successfully “fell” Avdiivka. He claimed that the Ukrainian armed forces made the decision to withdraw from the city while their troops were already fleeing the area. Putin went on to emphasize the need to build on this success and prepare for the next phase of progress.
Defense Minister Shoigu supported Putin’s claims, stating that Russia managed to capture Avdiivka in the Donetsk region with minimal losses, and that their offensive operations are ongoing. He asserted that Russian troops created impossible conditions for the Ukrainian army in Avdiivka, ultimately forcing them to flee. Additionally, Shoigu noted that the coke factory in Avdiivka is now under Russian control, and that Ukrainian forces left many injured in their retreat.
Furthermore, Shoigu mentioned that Russian forces have also seized control of the Krinki village in the Kherson region. These strong statements from the Russian leadership indicate a continued and aggressive push in Ukraine. The situation in the region remains highly volatile and calls for immediate international attention and diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the conflict.
