New Routes Discovered for Rafting Enthusiasts on the Çoruh River
Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Bekir Kurtoğlu has highlighted the thrill-seeking opportunities that the Çoruh River offers, branding it as perfect for adrenaline lovers due to its fast-flowing currents. The Provincial Directorate has recently uncovered new routes along the river passing through the city borders, providing exciting experiences for both professional and amateur athletes.
“Last year, many athletes ventured into rafting on the Çoruh River, witnessing the natural beauty of the surrounding valley while indulging in the excitement of the sport,” Kurtoğlu stated. As the Tourism Week kicks off, the season for rafting has commenced with daily group excursions of approximately 10 to 20 individuals. Activities will continue until the beginning of August, welcoming all enthusiasts to join in and explore the exhilarating waters of the Çoruh River.
Participants are guaranteed an adrenaline-pumping experience, navigating through eddies and strong currents. One visitor, Can Abdulbaki Bozo, shared his thrilling moments on the river, emphasizing the increased vigor of the Çoruh during this season. Bozo expressed his enthusiasm for continuing rafting activities throughout the season, inviting friends and tourists to partake in the adventure.
