Yüksel Uzel, also known as Yüksel Katmer, was born on April 19, 1950, and hails from a mix of Circassian and Georgian heritage. His talent for music emerged at a young age, and after the untimely death of his father, he pursued a career in the field. He began his musical journey as a choirist at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory in 1975.
It was in 1978 that Uzel rose to prominence, captivating audiences with his performances at Büyük Maksim Gazinosu. This marked the beginning of his successful career in the Turkish music industry.
In 1983, Uzel released his first album, titled “Bir Seni Bir Gülü Öpsem”, under the Yavuz Plak label.
