Holiday Bonuses for Retirees Expected to Increase
In a recent announcement, Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of Labor and Social Security, stated that holiday bonuses for retirees are expected to increase. The minister made this statement during a broadcast on NTV, where he emphasized the growing demand for an increase in holiday bonuses for retirees.
Currently, retirees receive a holiday bonus of 2 thousand liras twice a year, during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. Minister Işıkhan did not provide specific details and figures regarding the increase but signaled that steps could be taken to address this demand. He mentioned that discussions will be held with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, and the issue will be presented to President Erdoğan after necessary evaluations.
Minister Işıkhan also shared updates on the difference amounts and payments resulting from the equalization of the raise rates given to retirees. He stated that a total of 13 million 660 thousand people will receive 15 billion 845 million 208 thousand liras in difference payments.
In addition to this, it has been reported that a 5 thousand lira bonus will be provided for working retirees in the Official Gazette.
The potential increase in holiday bonuses for retirees has sparked interest and anticipation among the retired community, who are eagerly awaiting more details about the proposed changes.
