Home-Type Kindergartens in Bishkek: An Innovative Approach to Preschool Education
Bishkek, 27 June 2023 – The Ministry of Education and Science has announced that approximately 700 children are already benefiting from home-type kindergartens in the capital city. These kindergartens are part of the government’s ambitious project, “Reducing barriers to preschool education services and increasing the coverage of children with it,” under the Government Accelerators program.
A total of 31 home-type kindergartens have been established as part of this initiative, providing a new and innovative approach to early childhood education. This program aims to address the challenges and barriers that many children face when it comes to accessing quality preschool education.
To ensure the success of the home-type kindergartens, the Ministry of Education and Science has implemented training programs for individuals interested in becoming caregivers. A total of 504 people have completed the short-term training and have been certified, while 166 individuals have registered with the Tax Service as individual entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the ministry has reported that an additional 677 individuals are currently undergoing online training.
The Government Accelerators program, which inspired this initiative, is a unique reform mechanism developed by the UAE government. It serves as a methodology for government agencies to efficiently address and solve problems, striving to achieve their goals within a 100-day timeframe.
The introduction of home-type kindergartens in Bishkek has provided a valuable solution to the challenge of limited preschool education services. These kindergartens offer a nurturing environment for children, allowing them to learn and develop at their own pace. Moreover, they provide flexibility for working parents who may find it difficult to enroll their children in traditional brick-and-mortar kindergartens.
As the number of children attending home-type kindergartens continues to grow, it is clear that this innovative approach is meeting the needs of both children and parents. The Ministry of Education and Science remains committed to expanding and improving the quality of preschool education in Bishkek, ensuring that every child has access to the education they deserve.
With the success of the Government Accelerators program and the evident benefits of home-type kindergartens, it is hopeful that this model will inspire similar initiatives in other regions, further advancing early childhood education throughout the country.
