The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Considers Ratification of Agreement with Russia for School Construction
Bishkek – 21:15, 30 September 2024 – The Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan has begun considering in the first reading a bill on ratification of the agreement with Russia on providing a grant for the construction of nine schools with Russian as the language of instruction in Kyrgyzstan.
The Eurasian Development Bank will implement the project, with the schools set to be built in seven regions, Bishkek and Osh cities. However, due to administrative-territorial reform, Novopavlovka village has been annexed to the capital, resulting in two schools being built in Bishkek and none in the Chui region.
These schools will follow a standard design and are anticipated to accommodate 1,224 children once completed. The exact amount of money to be allocated for this project is not yet known.
In response to this assistance, the deputies expressed their gratitude to the Russian government for their support. The bill is currently under review, and further developments on the construction of these schools are expected in the near future.
