The arrest of lawyer Samat Matsakov has been extended for two more months, according to his defense attorney Nursultan Zhanybekov. The decision was made at the request of the investigator and the measure of restraint in the form of detention will now last until February 28.

Matsakov is known for representing various high-profile clients, including akyn Askat Zhetigen, journalists Aktilek Kaparov and Akyl Orozbekov, and the founder of construction company KG Group, Imamidin Tashov.
