Serdar Berdimuhamedov Approves Turkmenistan Foreign Ministry’s 2025 Work Plan
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has approved the work plan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 2025 during a government meeting on Friday. The plan, submitted by Deputy Prime Minister and head of foreign policy Rashid Meredov, outlines key priorities and goals for the year ahead.
One important focus of the plan is on organizational issues, including the preparation for significant dates such as the 34th anniversary of Independence and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality. Additionally, the plan takes into account the UN General Assembly’s declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust.”
The work plan also emphasizes the development of diplomatic relationships with countries across Europe, America, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region. This includes plans for political consultations, international meetings, and other events to strengthen cooperation in various areas.
Another key aspect of the plan is the promotion of international economic cooperation. Steps will be taken to enhance interactions with foreign government agencies, companies, and financial institutions to boost Turkmenistan’s export potential and investment attractiveness.
Legal issues are also addressed in the plan, with a focus on preparing necessary documents for international interactions. Consular activities, information and communication technologies, protocol, and other important matters are also included in the plan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will work towards ensuring that priority positions of Turkmenistan are highlighted on the global stage, including at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The plan also includes measures to implement resolutions adopted by the General Assembly last year on Turkmenistan’s initiative.
Overall, the work plan for 2025 sets out the priority tasks for diplomatic missions and consular institutions of Turkmenistan abroad. Through these efforts, Turkmenistan aims to strengthen its international relationships and promote its interests on the global stage.
