President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov Extends Congratulations to Serbia on Statehood Day
President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has sent heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the people of Serbia on the occasion of the national holiday, Statehood Day.
Statehood Day, which is the main national holiday of the Republic of Serbia, is celebrated for two days on February 15-16, which are declared public holidays.
During these two days of celebration, a special place is given to the Serbian Orthodox Church. This is due to the fact that 189 years ago, on February 15, the first democratic Constitution of Serbia was adopted. This day, which coincides with the celebration of Candlemas of the Lord by Christians, is often referred to as the Sretenje Constitution (“Candlemas Constitution”).
In addition to the celebration of the Constitution, February 15 also marks Serbian Army Day, adding to the festive atmosphere in the country.
The celebrations in Serbia consist of a large number of events, both state and church-related. Congratulatory speeches from the country’s leadership are accompanied by Christian prayers, and official ceremonies of laying wreaths at memorial sites are intertwined with solemn rites of worship.
In his congratulatory message, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished President Aleksandar Vucic good health, happiness, and prosperity, and extended his wishes for peace, further development, and prosperity to the people of Serbia.
The warm gesture from the President of Turkmenistan emphasizes the strong and friendly relations between the two countries.
