SF Airlines’ New Cargo Flights Connect Lanzhou and Tashkent
SF Airlines, a Chinese cargo carrier, has recently announced the launch of a new freight route connecting Lanzhou and Tashkent. This new route establishes a vital link between the two cities, providing increased connectivity for cargo transportation.
The inaugural flight on this new route took place on April 2, with a Boeing 757 aircraft landing at Tashkent International Airport. The aircraft was greeted with a traditional water salute, marking the beginning of this new service. Initially, the cargo flights will operate twice a week, with plans to increase the frequency in the future to meet the growing demand for cargo transportation between the two regions.
In preparation for the increased cargo traffic, a new cargo terminal was officially opened at Tashkent International Airport on March 20. This state-of-the-art facility boasts an 8,500 sq. m. warehouse complex with an annual capacity of 120,000 tons. The warehouse includes specialized storage areas for various goods such as plants, live animals, valuable items, food products, and pharmaceuticals. Equipped with temperature sensors and modern equipment, the warehouse ensures optimal conditions for storing different types of cargo.
Moreover, the terminal features a three-story administrative building with an operations hall and an electronic queue system for cargo recipients. A large parking area is also available near the terminal, enhancing efficiency and convenience for all stakeholders involved in the cargo transportation process.
With the introduction of this new freight route and the opening of the modern cargo terminal, the Chinese airline aims to facilitate seamless cargo transportation between Lanzhou and Tashkent, laying the foundation for enhanced trade and connectivity between the two regions.
