President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev Embarks on Official State Visit to France
On March 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan set off for France for an official state visit, as reported by the presidential press service. The visit, which is scheduled from March 11 to 13, will include high-level negotiations, events in Paris, and meetings with representatives of France’s official and business circles.
The main agenda of the visit is to strengthen and further develop the multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and France. This includes focusing on expanding cooperation in trade, economic, investment, and financial sectors, as well as advancing joint projects with France’s leading companies and enterprises. It is expected that at the end of the summit, a package of intergovernmental and interagency agreements will be signed.
In addition to these discussions, President Mirziyoyev will also meet with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay to talk about the preparations for the organization’s 43rd General Conference, which is set to take place in Samarkand in the autumn of 2025.
According to reports from Le Figaro, energy issues will be a significant topic during President Mirziyoyev’s visit to France. This visit marks the third time President Mirziyoyev has visited France, following trips in 2018 and 2022. French President Emmanuel Macron also visited Uzbekistan on an official visit in 2023.
The visit to France signifies the ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between Uzbekistan and France and to promote cooperation in various sectors for the mutual benefit of both countries.
