Ambassador Begench Durdyev Holds Meetings with Senior Representatives of Singapore Government
Ambassador Begench Durdyev recently concluded a successful working visit to the Republic of Singapore, where he engaged in a series of meetings with key government officials and organized a diplomatic briefing on Turkmenistan’s upcoming events.
The visit commenced with a meeting between Ambassador Durdyev and Samuel Tan, the Director General of the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore. The discussions revolved around various bilateral issues, including high-level visits, political consultations, and cooperation within international organizations.
Trade, economic ties, and cultural exchanges were also on the agenda, with a focus on upcoming events in Turkmenistan related to the country’s 30th anniversary of neutrality and the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
During a meeting with Minister Mohammad Maliki Osman, the Ambassador elaborated on the planned events for the anniversaries and extended an invitation for the Minister to visit Turkmenistan for further discussions on bilateral cooperation.
A diplomatic briefing was organized by Ambassador Durdyev at the Wyndham Hotel, attended by various Singaporean ministries, diplomatic missions, academia, and media representatives. The briefing covered key political, economic, and cultural events planned in Turkmenistan in 2025, emphasizing the significance of the country’s initiatives under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Further discussions took place with representatives from the ministries of Trade and Industry, focusing on enhancing trade relations, business ties, and exploring opportunities for economic cooperation. The possibilities of collaboration in the field of transport and logistics were also explored in a meeting with the Director General of the International Relations and Security Department of the Ministry of Transport.
Overall, Ambassador Durdyev’s visit underscored the mutual commitment of Turkmenistan and Singapore to strengthen their cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest. The fruitful discussions and engagements during the visit are expected to pave the way for enhanced collaboration between the two nations.
