Sleep apnea, a condition in which breathing stops during sleep, can lead to serious accidents, experts warn. Neurologist Dr. Güven Arslan explained that there are two types of sleep apnea, central and obstructive. Central sleep apnea is related to the sleep center in the brain, while obstructive sleep apnea is caused by airway blockage.
Dr. Mehmethan Turan, a Chest Diseases Specialist, stated that it’s essential to diagnose sleep apnea early to prevent complications.
