Bishkek to Implement Intelligent Transport Solutions: A Collaborative Initiative with South Korea

Bishkek – Deputy Mayor of Bishkek, Zhamalbek Yrsaliev, recently convened a working meeting with representatives from the Seoul Institute, DONG IL Engineering, and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to discuss a significant urban transport project.
The focus of this meeting was a pilot initiative aimed at introducing smart transport solutions along Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue, specifically from Zhibek Zholu Avenue to Akhunbaev Street. This ambitious project, with a total budget of 2.625 billion soms, aims to enhance the city’s traffic management and improve overall road safety.
Key components of the initiative include the installation of smart traffic lights and electronic signage systems. These innovations are expected to boost traffic flow and provide real-time information to drivers, ultimately enhancing the safety of all road users.
