South Korea’s Plan for Railway Terminal in Namangan
South Korean Company Plans to Construct Railway Terminal in Uzbekistan
Ecofarm Global Co., a South Korean company, is set to embark on a $50 million project to construct a railway terminal in the Namangan region of Uzbekistan, specifically in the Chust district. The project aims to enhance the region’s transportation and storage capacity by including a modern logistics center, cold storage facilities, and a passenger railway terminal.
Recently, Namangan regional governor Shavkat Abdurazzakov met with Lim Sang Hwa, the head of Ecofarm Global Co., to discuss two major projects planned for the region. The first project involves the construction of a modern caravanserai, shopping center, restaurant, recreational area, and parking facility along the Namangan-Tashkent route. Situated on a 7-hectare site in the Chust district, near the A-373 Fergana Ring Road, this $5 million project is expected to serve 100,000 passengers annually and create 50 new jobs. The facility is anticipated to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2025.
The second project entails the construction of a logistics center and railway terminal within the Namangan Free Economic Zone. Spanning a 10-hectare site, this $50 million initiative will feature cold storage warehouses with a capacity of 100,000 tons of goods per year and generate 100 new jobs. The first phase of the project is scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the second phase to follow in the fourth quarter of 2026.
These projects signify a significant investment in the Namangan region’s infrastructure and economy, with the potential to drive growth and development in the area. With Ecofarm Global Co. leading the way, the future looks bright for transportation and logistics in Uzbekistan.
