SSS Officers Arrest Citizen for Attempted Sale of 10kg of Opium

Urgench Drug Dealer Caught Smuggling Opium in Bags of Cement

A resident of the Samarkand region had planned to transport and sell expensive bags of cement in Urgench, but his plans were thwarted by a joint operation by the State Security Department for the Khorezm region and customs officials.

During the operation, a truck transporting bags of cement from Samarkand to Urgench was stopped and inspected, leading to a surprising discovery. The inspection revealed 9 kg 754 g of opium, packed in 10 bags of cement.

Further investigation uncovered that a 53-year-old resident of the Urgut district, with a history of three previous convictions for drug trafficking, had ordered the truck and hidden bags of opium inside the cement bags in an attempt to smuggle the narcotic substances into the Khorezm region for distribution.

It was also revealed that the detected narcotic substances had been smuggled from Tajikistan.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under charges of smuggling and illegal production, acquisition, storage, and distribution of narcotic drugs. The suspect is currently in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.

This joint operation demonstrates the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in combating drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and security of the region. Such efforts are crucial in preventing the spread of illegal narcotics and protecting the well-being of the community.
