A Specialist of Tamga Rural Administration Arrested for Extortion
In a recent development, a specialist from the Tamga rural administration has been detained for extortion, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The case involves corruption and illegal actions related to the provision of land plots in the Jeti-Oguz district. The rural administration employee in question allegedly took advantage of his official position to extort money from local residents in exchange for leasing land plots near the lake.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that the official was also attempting to return the money he had previously received as a bribe. Police officers caught him red-handed while he was in the process of returning the bribe.
The case has been initiated under Article 343 “Extortion” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the investigation is currently ongoing. Preliminary findings suggest that there may be additional violations of the law, and further operational and investigative measures are being carried out.
