Uzbekistan Looks to Deepen Strategic Partnership with the United States
In a draft state program for 2025, Uzbekistan has outlined its plans to strengthen its strategic partnership with the United States. This program, which has been published for public discussion, aims to enhance cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has expressed its intention to establish close cooperation with representatives of the new U.S. administration by the end of the year and organize a high-level visit. Additionally, the plan includes holding the first round of an expanded strategic partnership dialogue with the United States at a high level in Tashkent.
Furthermore, Uzbekistan is looking to deepen its cooperation with the United States in the C5+1 format, which focuses on Central Asia and the United States. This includes holding meetings of ministers and relevant working groups, as well as preparing for a summit in Samarkand to mark the 10th anniversary of this format.
The draft program also calls for the expansion of inter-parliamentary ties, with the organization of visits of leading members of the U.S. Congress to Uzbekistan. In terms of security cooperation, Uzbekistan is considering broadening its collaboration with the United States.
Moreover, the document outlines plans to expand cooperation with the United States in areas such as education, science, healthcare, and environmental protection. This includes partnerships between universities, English language teaching, and joint projects in science and ecology.
