Tashkent Metro Expansion: 10 New Stations to be Added in TTZ Area
The Tashkent Metro is set to undergo a major expansion with the addition of 10 new stations reaching the Tashkent Tractor Plant (TTZ) area. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this development during a recent visit to review construction and urban development projects in the capital city.
The extension of the Chilanzar line to the TTZ area will serve 30 neighborhoods and a population of 148,000, providing improved public transportation access to the region. This initiative is part of a larger effort to enhance the city’s infrastructure and connectivity.
In addition to the metro expansion, President Mirziyoyev visited the newly built High Town City complex in Tashkent’s Yunusabad district. The complex, funded by $510 million in foreign investment, includes a shopping and entertainment center, a business hub, a hotel, and modern residential units.
The president emphasized the importance of supporting investors and entrepreneurs, highlighting the economic significance of projects like High Town City. He also encouraged the promotion of national products in international markets and acknowledged the role of private sector investment in driving economic growth.
During his tour of the complex, President Mirziyoyev praised a cozy bookstore within the shopping center and suggested the establishment of similar bookstores at metro stations and waiting areas. He also engaged with children at the playground, emphasizing the importance of education and the development of intellectual and creative potential.
Future plans for the High Town City complex include the construction of a 24-story, five-star hotel with modern amenities, as well as modern residential buildings with 1,500 apartments. The development aims to create a vibrant urban environment with accessible services and facilities for residents and visitors alike.
Another project in the works involves the construction of high-rise residential buildings, commercial spaces, and service facilities near the Chirchiq River in the Bektemir district. This initiative is expected to drive urbanization in the area and establish a new urban center, further enhancing the city’s growth and development.
