Teen arrested in Tashkent for playing Notcoin, iPhone seized

A 19-year-old young man in Tashkent was recently found guilty of buying cryptocurrency and transferring it to another person without proper documentation. The incident came to light during an inspection of the Ton platform by the city’s Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) on June 20.
It was discovered that the young man, originally from the Andijan region, had purchased cryptocurrency totaling 8,539 “not” through the Ton Spase notcoin section on Telegram from June 1 to June 7. He then proceeded to transfer the cryptocurrency to another individual without obtaining the necessary licenses or documents from the National Agency for Prospective Projects in the Field of Crypto-Assets Circulation.
Following a hearing on June 21 at the Bektemir district court, the young man confessed to his actions and cited family circumstances in plea for leniency. Despite his apology, he was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 155-4 of the Administrative Responsibility Code and was sentenced to a 7-day administrative arrest.
Furthermore, the court ordered the offender to pay a fine of 357 thousand soums for food expenses to a special receiver appointed by the Tashkent city DIA. Additionally, the young man’s iPhone 13 Pro Max mobile phone was confiscated by the state.
This case serves as a reminder of the importance of following legal procedures when dealing with cryptocurrency transactions and the consequences of engaging in such activities without proper documentation.
