The 6th Ethnosport Forum: 16-18 February
The World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC) has announced that the traditional sports forum, initially scheduled for 2023, has been postponed due to the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş. The forum, which aims to evaluate the short, medium, and long-term strategies for traditional sports, will bring together representatives from 30 corporate members from various countries.
Countries such as Kazakhstan, Japan, Mexico, Qatar, Mongolia, Argentina, Turkey, Tunisia, Poland, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Russia, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Hungary, and Uzbekistan will be represented at the forum. In addition to corporate members, officials from these countries, federation representatives, researchers, and academicians will also be in attendance.
The president of the World Ethnosport Confederation, Bilal Erdoğan, will deliver the opening speech at the forum. Following the opening speeches, the forum will proceed with a ministerial panel to discuss and address the future of traditional sports.
The postponement of the forum demonstrates the WEC’s commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all participants. The gathering promises to be a significant event for the discussion and development of traditional sports on a global scale.
