French President Macron Emphasizes Need to Prevent Russian Victory
French President Emmanuel Macron recently made a visit to the Naval Base in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, where he met with soldiers and discussed several important topics. Macron stressed the importance of preventing a potential victory by Russia, stating, “We are not at war against Russia, but our duty is to make (Russia’s) victory impossible.”
In regards to the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict, Macron expressed his concerns, warning that “with a Russian victory, the security of Europe ends.” These statements reflect France’s stance on the situation and its commitment to maintaining stability in the region.
Macron also addressed the situation in the Middle East, highlighting France’s support for freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. He further emphasized the effectiveness of France’s presence in the region, particularly in providing assistance to Palestinians in need. Macron revealed that over 1,000 Palestinians were hosted, and more than 120 seriously injured individuals were treated on board France’s helicopter ship Dixmude, which is equipped to provide hospital services for those injured in Gaza.
In addition to these discussions, President Macron highlighted the significant increase in the country’s military budget, stating that it has doubled since 2017. This investment reflects France’s commitment to strengthening its defense capabilities and ensuring national security.
During Macron’s speech, a woman standing behind him fell ill. The President paused his speech to allow the woman to receive medical attention, demonstrating compassion and concern for the well-being of those around him.
