Provincial data reveals that Istanbul, Kocaeli, and Bursa were the leading exporters. Istanbul topped the list with 94 billion 895 million 425 thousand dollars, followed by Kocaeli with 18 billion 727 million 378 thousand dollars, and Bursa with 16 billion 202 million 378 thousand dollars. These top three provinces accounted for 51.1 percent of total exports, with the remaining 78 provinces contributing 48.9 percent.

Germany, the USA, and Iraq were the top three export destinations, with exports to 113 countries increasing and export records breaking in 66 countries. The number of countries with exports exceeding 1 billion dollars rose to 50, with an average export value of 1.57 dollars per kilogram.

The automotive sector led the way in exports, with 35 billion 4 million 230 thousand dollars, followed by chemicals and chemical products with 30 billion 572 million 12 thousand dollars, and ready-made clothing with 19 billion 253 million 722 thousand dollars.

Notably, the defense and aerospace sector experienced a significant increase, reaching 5 billion 545 million 622 thousand dollars in 2023. This marks a 143 percent increase from 2020, indicating a positive upward trend in defense exports.
