Tokayev Extends Congratulations on Kazakhstani Fatherland Defenders’ Day and Victory Day
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan recently extended his congratulations to citizens on two significant national holidays – Defenders of the Fatherland Day on May 7 and Victory Day on May 9.
In his address, President Tokayev praised the brave soldiers of the Kazakh army for their unwavering dedication in safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and ensuring peace and stability. He commended the military personnel for their exceptional courage and commitment, especially during challenging times such as the recent severe floods that struck the nation.
Highlighting the efforts of 300 military personnel in the North Kazakhstan Region who worked tirelessly to construct dams and protect communities from the floods, President Tokayev expressed his gratitude for their selfless service. He noted that the unity and cohesion between the people and the army were evident in the appreciation shown by the residents towards the servicemen.
President Tokayev also acknowledged the sacrifices made by frontline soldiers and home front workers during times of conflict, emphasizing the country’s enduring gratitude towards them. He announced annual additional payments for war participants on Victory Day, with this year’s amount reaching three million tenge for each veteran.
Furthermore, President Tokayev reiterated the importance of maintaining a strong and combat-ready army in light of increasing geostrategic challenges. He highlighted Kazakhstan’s recent mandate from the United Nations to conduct an independent mission in the Golan Heights as a testament to the high combat readiness and coherence of the Kazakh troops.
The President outlined ongoing efforts to enhance professional training and modernize the Armed Forces, including the opening of a new air base in Astana and providing educational grants and loan repayment deferments to service members. He also recognized the significant contributions of defenders in upholding national security and peace, honoring them with promotions and state awards for their courage and dedication.
