Three New Actors Join Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill in Stephen King Adaptation
The highly anticipated Stephen King adaptation, “The Life of Chuck,” directed by Mike Flanagan, has added three new names to its cast. Alongside Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, and Jacob Tremblay will also star in the film.
“The Life of Chuck” is based on a short story of the same name by Stephen King and consists of three interconnected stories that reveal the life of Charles Krantz. What makes this narrative unique is that it unfolds in reverse. The story begins with Charles’ death at the age of 39 due to a brain tumor and gradually moves backward, ending with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house. The short story was published in the anthology collection “If It Bleeds” in 2020.
In the film adaptation, Tom Hiddleston will take on the role of Charles Krantz, the main character, while Mark Hamill will portray a character named Albie. The roles of the three new cast members have not yet been disclosed.
Notably, the newcomers to the cast have previously worked with director Mike Flanagan. Karen Gillan starred in Flanagan’s 2013 film “Oculus,” Jacob Tremblay appeared in “Doctor Sleep,” and Mark Hamill recently appeared in Flanagan’s latest Netflix series, “The Fall of the House of Usher.”
“The Life of Chuck” marks Mike Flanagan’s third Stephen King adaptation, following his successful films “Doctor Sleep” and “Gerald’s Game.” Flanagan is also currently working on the television series adaptation of King’s “Dark Tower.”
