Top 20 Taxpayers in Uzbekistan Announced
The State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan has recently published data on the top 20 taxpayers for the period of January to November, revealing a concentration of tax contributions among a select group of companies, especially state-affiliated entities.
During this eleven-month period, a total of 949 major taxpayers collectively paid 101.6 trillion UZS in taxes. More than half of this amount, totaling 54 trillion UZS, was contributed by the top 10 state-involved enterprises, underscoring their significant role in the country’s tax landscape.
At the forefront of these top taxpayers is the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine (NMMC), which paid an impressive 24.8 trillion UZS in taxes. Other notable contributors include the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (7.9 trillion UZS), Uzbekneftegaz (3.8 trillion UZS), and Hududgazta’minot (3.4 trillion UZS).
In comparison, the top 10 private sector taxpayers accounted for 7.8 trillion UZS during the same period. Leading this group is UzBAT, a tobacco manufacturing company, with 2.6 trillion UZS in tax contributions. Other prominent private sector taxpayers include Tashkent Tobacco, Enter Engineering, Kapital Bank, and Hamkorbank. Additionally, companies such as Unitel, Gid License Plate, Coca-Cola, International Beverages, and Anglesey Food also made the list of top private sector taxpayers.
Overall, the data released by the State Tax Committee highlights the significant contributions made by a select group of companies to the country’s tax revenue, with state-affiliated enterprises playing a particularly dominant role in this regard.
