
Töre Assembly Cup Equestrian Races: A Spectator’s View

President of the Assembly of the Republic, Zorlu Töre, attended the Parliament Cup Equestrian races organized annually by the TRNC Equestrian Federation. The competition took place at the Famagusta Royal Equestrian Sports Club, where President Töre presented awards to the top-performing athletes. Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova was also present at the event.
During his statement, President Töre highlighted the growth of equestrian sports in the country and expressed his hopes that the new generation will develop an interest in this sport. He thanked the Equestrian Federation for their continued efforts in organizing this event on behalf of the Assembly.
The Show Jumping Competition featured six categories, including the under-12 cross-pole 70 cm, 70 cm novice, and 90 cm categories on Saturday. On Sunday, the competition continued with the 80 cm novice, 100 cm jump-off, and 120 cm categories. Equestrian clubs and individual athletes from across Northern Cyprus actively participated in the competitions organized by the Equestrian Federation.
Overall, the Parliament Cup Equestrian races served as a platform for fostering the growth and development of equestrian sports in the country. The presence of President Töre and Minister Berova demonstrates the government’s support for the sport and its commitment to encouraging the participation of the younger generation.
