Tragedy strikes as nursing home fire in Germany claims 4 lives and injures 23
A fire broke out in a nursing home in Bedburg-Hau, Germany, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries. According to the police statement, the fire started at 03.50 local time in the small town with a population of 13 thousand.
As firefighters arrived on the scene to extinguish the flames, one firefighter was injured and had to be taken to the hospital. The teams managed to evacuate 46 people from the nursing home. Unfortunately, preliminary reports indicate that 4 people lost their lives in the fire, while 23 others sustained injuries.
Although the fire has been mostly extinguished, authorities are still investigating the cause of the outbreak. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
