A Tragic Incident in Yeniköy: Teenager and Grandmother Found Unconscious
In a heartbreaking incident in Yeniköy district, a 17-year-old boy named Barış Gümüş and his grandmother Bilor Gümüş were found lying unconscious in their home on Fatih Street. The young man’s friends, who were unable to reach him, reported the situation to his father, who was at work at the time.
Upon receiving the distressing news, family members rushed home to discover the grim scene of Barış and his grandmother lying motionless on the ground. Authorities were immediately notified, and both the police and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the house.
It was later determined that Barış and Bilor Gümüş had been poisoned by a natural gas leak. They were quickly taken to Şavşat State Hospital by medical teams for treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Barış Gümüş tragically could not be saved. His grandmother, Bilor Gümüş, remains in serious condition and has been transferred to Artvin State Hospital for further care.
In order to determine the exact cause of Barış’s death, his body has been sent to the Artvin Forensic Medicine Institute for investigation.
