Tragic House Fire Take Lives in Barbecue Accident

Tragic Incident In Diyarbakır Claims Lives of Family Members

A devastating incident in Diyarbakır last month has resulted in the loss of multiple lives. Remziye Çiftçi, who recently lost her husband İzzettin Çiftçi due to carbon monoxide poisoning from a barbecue at home, has tragically passed away after 42 days of intensive care. The couple’s two grandchildren were also affected by the incident, but have since been discharged from the hospital.

The incident occurred in the morning hours of December 5, when the power outage in their village prompted the Çiftçi family to light a barbecue for warmth. Seyfettin Çiftçi, the couple’s son, lit two barbecues – one in the room of his father İzzettin and mother Remziye, and the other in his own room. Tragically, he later found both his parents unconscious, as well as his two young daughters.

Medical teams were immediately informed of the situation, and all four family members were rushed to Dicle University Hospital. Despite their efforts, İzzettin Çiftçi couldn’t be saved and was buried in the neighborhood after an autopsy. His wife, Remziye Çiftçi, and their grandchildren were taken to intensive care. Although the children were eventually discharged, Remziye Çiftçi’s condition continued to worsen. Unfortunately, she lost her life last night after a 42-day battle in the hospital.

The family’s friends and relatives have been left devastated by the tragic loss and have laid Remziye Çiftçi to rest in Kervanpınar District. This heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning and the importance of taking precautions in the use of barbecues and other heating sources. Our deepest condolences go out to the Çiftçi family and their loved ones during this difficult time.
