Traubisoda: The Legendary Hungarian Soft Drink Makes a Comeback

Hungarian Soft Drink Maker Márka Üdítógyártó Starts Bottling Traubisoda
Hungarian soft drink maker Márka Üdítógyártó has recently announced that they have started bottling Traubisoda after signing an agreement with the owner of the local brand that was popular in the 1970s and ‘80s.
The production of Traubisoda was ceremoniously launched at Márka’s base in Felsőlajos, located in Central Hungary, on Tuesday. Tibor Pecskovi, the owner and managing director of Márka, expressed the company’s goal of integrating more Hungarian brands into its portfolio.
Márka currently holds the second position in Hungary’s carbonated soft drink market with a market share of over 15%. Their bottling plant in Felsőlajos, which was completed in 2017, has the capacity to produce 290 million units per year.
András Tállai, a state secretary at the Agriculture Ministry, confirmed that Márka would be using local suppliers exclusively to manufacture Traubisoda. Public records show that Márka had a net sales revenue of HUF 19.2 billion (EUR 48 million) in 2023, with exports generating HUF 1.6 billion of the total.
It is evident that Márka is focused on expanding its product offerings and celebrating local Hungarian brands such as Traubisoda. This move not only strengthens Márka’s presence in the market but also highlights the importance of supporting and promoting domestic products.
